About

Thank you for taking the time to explore this website and the educational videos that I create.

I have been teaching middle and high school math for over 10 years, and I love it! I am very privileged to be in a position where I can inspire my students to explore and appreciate the beauty of mathematics. It gives me great joy when I see genuine curiosity sparked in my students.

True appreciation for math needs to be rooted in a solid foundation that covers basic knowledge, understanding, and skills in a structured and meaningful way that students can easily digest.

Up until now, the reach of my teaching has been limited to those physically present in my classroom, or small groups of students that I have taught online. However, I have had this desire to reach a wider audience and be able to help and inspire significantly more students in whatever way I can.

When thinking about how this could be achieved, I knew that I had to take advantage of the benefits of technology. It became apparent to me that YouTube would be my platform of choice given its popularity, its global reach, and its free access to viewers. This led me on a quest to learn how to create high-quality videos that are engaging, informative, and to-the-point. As such, I strive to make videos that are relevant, useful, and add value to the education of all of my viewers.

So much of my motivation stems from my upbringing in South Africa. Although I had the most amazing childhood that was coupled with access to an excellent education, I was not oblivious to the fact that majority of students in South Africa do not have this luxury, through no fault of their own. I firmly believe that access to good education should never be a function of wealth, and my efforts in making these videos are a way of 'paying it forward'.

I draw inspiration from two quotes from one of the world's greatest leaders, Nelson Mandela:
"Education is the most powerful weapon that you can use to change the world."
"It always seems impossible until it is done."
